Homeopathy and Naturopathic Treatment of Pregnancy and Labour Perth

Fertility Naturopath Perth: Homeopathy and Naturopathic Treatment of Pregnancy and Labour

At this Perth naturopathic clinic we have assisted many women in becoming pregnant. However, our job doesn’t end there. We advise the woman who has fallen pregnant on our fertility treatment to continue for at least the first three months, but many choose to follow on with monthly or six weekly visits throughout the pregnancy.

Of course, as we don’t just treat fertility, any woman can book a first appointment to see us at any stage of pregnancy.

We can help with virtually all the typical conditions women encounter during the three trimesters of pregnancy and prepare the body and uterus for childbirth. In treating the mother with homeopathy and naturopathic advice we also believe we can aid the developing foetus. Typically we provide remedies to facilitate the birth and labour, and medicines that can help in healing in the post-partum period afterwards.

Homeopathic Pregnancy Treatment

Homeopathy is completely low risk during pregnancy. It is not chemical medicine; it works by providing information to the body that assists in its own process of healing and attaining balance. If the information is incorrect (wrong remedy) then nothing happens. Homeopathy cannot make anything happen by itself if it is not the message the body needs. Drugs are chemical medicine, but so are vitamins and herbs, which is why many of those things have contraindications during pregnancy. But we can assure you that any of the thousands of homeopathic remedies available for us to prescribe during pregnancy are risk-free.

Please note that we advise our patients to follow the advice of their gynaecologist, doctor or midwife during pregnancy and birthing at all times. Our treatment is complementary to and does not replace their care. There are many things we can treat that are not helped by orthodox medicine, however.

Conditions Treated During Pregnancy

Some of the things that naturopathic advice and homeopathy may help us treat during pregnancy at this Perth clinic include:

  • Nausea of pregnancy (morning sickness)
  • Constipation of pregnancy
  • Tendency to miscarriage
  • Pre-eclampsia or toxaemia
  • Haemorrhoids
  • Varicose veins
  • Diabetes and blood sugar problems of pregnancy
  • Hypertension or high blood pressure
  • Albuminuria and oedema (fluid retention) of pregnancy
  • Pubic and sacral symphysis pain (symphysiolyis)

In the last trimester, we concentrate on preparation for labour. Certain remedies help tone the uterus and prepare the body mentally and physically for childbirth.

We provide the woman with a small kit to deal with the most typical problems of the birthing process. Depending on the symptoms, there are remedies that assist in the following circumstances:

  • Premature labour
  • Overdue labour
  • Failure to dilate
  • False labour pains
  • Extreme pains
  • Failure to progress
  • Mental stress, fear and anxiety

Naturopathic & Homeopathic Treatment After Birth (Post-Partum)

After the birth, there are homeopathic remedies that assist greatly with trauma recovery and minimise after-pains, and help in the following presentations:

  • Lacerations and tears of the perineum
  • Retained placenta
  • Post-partum infections
  • Healing of Caesarean and episiotomy wounds with minimal scarring
  • Retention of urine
  • Abnormal lochial discharge
  • General emotional and physical recovery
  • Poor milk supply
