Homeopathy and Naturopathic Treatment of Male Fertility Perth

Fertility Naturopath Perth: Treatment of Male Fertility

According to medical investigations, around 30% of all cases of infertility are caused by issues affecting the male.  We do prefer to see both partners at least for the first visit for this reason. However, in the majority of cases we only have the luxury of treating the woman.

In these cases, we usually give a diet sheet to be given to the partner, because most of the causes of infertility in men can be remedied by simple dietary and lifestyle changes. The partner is not deemed to be our patient, and these directives are general and merely to assist the result in our client. This still allows us to get the results that we do, although it is not ideal.

Having said that, it is much better for the male partner to attend the first visit and be assessed for constitutional homeopathic treatment for male fertility, which can only be prescribed after a consultation. This will optimise all the functions of the body and hormonal system and help with the response to stress, which is the main factor affecting male fertility, after dietary and lifestyle indiscretions.

For follow-ups, it is not entirely important for the man to attend the session. The woman can report on the progress of her partner at subsequent visits.

Male Fertility Causes

The most common causes of male infertility are to do with problems affecting the sperm. Most people know about the sperm count, which is the number of sperm in the ejaculate. But also important is the morphology or shape and integrity of the sperm; and after that their motility, or ability to move rapidly and in the right direction.

There are a number of possible medical causes that need to be investigated. These include undescended or under-developed testes, swollen veins in the scrotum, injury, chronic prostate infections, auto-immune problems and exposure to toxins or pesticides. These are relatively rare. The majority of male fertility problems, in our experience, can be remedied by dietary and lifestyle counselling and constitutional homeopathic remedies.

Naturopathy for Male Fertility

Certain dietary deficiencies are vitally important in maintaining male sexual health, potency and viability of the sperm. These include a number of vitamins, minerals, and a range of specific antioxidants. A healthy healthy balance of fatty acids is also essential. We have ways of determining which ones are more needed in the individual case, and we prefer they are obtained from your diet rather than from supplements.

There are also a range of foods that deplete sexual vitality and potency and impair general health, and they are not always the obvious ones that you would know about from common knowledge.

We can provide you with a dietary sheet, but we understand some people are more motivated than others with these changes. We will work with you to determine what is workable in your lifestyle and schedule. Also, many healthy foods are an acquired taste, and the average person does not have the persistence with them. This does not matter: we get results in the vast majority of cases, regardless of the compromises made.

Sperm need three months to develop, so any deficiency takes time to remedy. Also, some males are more likely to indulge in lifestyle choices that can work against these nutrients and damage sperm: alcohol to excess, caffeine, tobacco and other drugs. On top of this, many have poor and inadequate sleeping patterns. Counselling can be provided for these changes, and there are certain homeopathic protocols that can assist withdrawal from these things and help with the cravings.

The most important thing that can help with male fertility is constitutional homeopathic treatment. This is the remedy that covers all aspects of the person: mental, emotional and physical. It includes the weaknesses, obvious or slight affecting all systems of the body and encompasses subtle symptoms such as energy fluctuations through the day, food preferences and aversions, reactions to weather and temperature, sleep patterns and dreams, as well as emotional reactions to stress and fears and anxieties.

Relevant to male fertility issues, the choice of the constitutional remedy should also cover aspects of the person’s sexuality: their desire and potency. Many male partners of a couple who have been trying to achieve pregnancy for some time, many months or even years, suffer a loss of libido and have trouble performing.

This is in many cases emotional, and in some cases there may be a physical component. In either case, the constitutional remedy will usually assist. It can also be supported by other remedies that have a more direct action on the male hormonal system, which are individually prescribed to the exact pattern of symptoms.
